Kate receives ASLA NY President’s Award for Leadership

Kate Orff is a registered landscape architect and the founder of SCAPE. She is also Director of Columbia University’s Urban Design Program. Her activist and visionary work on design for climate dynamics has been shared and developed in collaboration with arts institutions, governments, and scholars worldwide. SCAPE’s project Living Breakwaters offers a holistic approach to infrastructure, integrating social and physical resiliency concepts. The project received $60M for implementation by the NY State Governor’s Office and won the Buckminster Fuller Award, “socially responsible design’s highest award.”
