Join Pippa at the 2016 APA Conference!

Join Pippa Brashear, SCAPE’s Director of Planning and Resilience, at the 2016 American Planning Association Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. Pippa will be participating in a panel centered on “Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration Necessary for Resilience” on Monday, April 4th. The session will address the interdisciplinary collaboration critical to address the mutli-dimensional challenges of resilience. Pippa will be speaking among leading planning and design professionals from HUD’s Rebuild by Design competition about how important this type of collaboration has been for developing innovative solutions to address climate change.

Pippa is currently the Project Manager for Living Breakwaters, the Rebuild by Design-winning multi-layered approach to coastal resilience that integrates social infrastructure with ecological infrastructure for the South Shore of Staten Island. The project is currently in schematic design and will reach 30% design by the early fall. Pippa has also been involved in other key resilience projects, including the NYC Strategic Initiative for Rebuilding and Resilience and community planning through the New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program.
