For the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, Kate spoke with ASLA’s The Dirt about the role of landscape architects in the context of our current global pandemic, climate change, and how SCAPE’s projects integrate ecological benefit at all scales.
“Landscape architects are largely concerned with the ‘middle scale,’ but Earth Day forces us to conceive of the planetary landscape, and what our role is in retrieving the Earth from its climate emergency status,” she describes to ASLA’s Jared Green. The interview goes on to explore a number of signature SCAPE projects including the Chattahoochee RiverLands, Public Sediment for Alameda Creek, the Resilient Boston Harbor Vision, and more.
