SCAPE collaborated with team lead TBG Partners on landscape architecture, ecological design and engagement for the 133-acre park at the southern boundary of East Baton Rouge Parish, where Wards Creek meets the historic Bayou Manchac. Today, Airline Highway Park is a regional park that hosts the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair and an array of diverse recreational facilities – but its landscapes experience regular nuisance flooding. The new Master Plan outlines a bold vision for the future with a planning and design approach that emphasizes green infrastructure and resilience, highlighting and restoring a variety of Southern Louisiana’s native ecosystems while providing a world-class destination for the surrounding region.
