Today, the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA)—the oldest and largest cultural institute of its kind in the state—announced their planned opening date of April 22, 2023, following a dramatic transformation of its building and grounds by Studio Gang and SCAPE.
The design, which includes a 133,000-square-foot building and over 11 acres of new landscape, will bridge a new connection between downtown Little Rock and MacArthur Park. “The reimagined Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts will be a beacon not just for downtown, or even for all of Little Rock, but for the region,” said Mayor Frank Scott, Jr.
The new landscape will feature 2,200 linear feet of new walking paths, outdoor sculpture, and curving, sculptural benches that connect the building and landscape throughout the Northern and Southern entrance plazas.
